Two-Factor Authentication

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring two forms of verification when logging in.

Updated today

Important information

  • When 2FA is activated first time, all users will be logged out and session data might get lost!
Users must be informed in advance and prepared for the activation

  • A second authentication factor must be set up before logging in again

  • Mobile login requires app version 3.8 or later

Step 1 – Log in and set up 2FA

  1. Log in to Infobric Field using your password

  2. You will be prompted to set up two-factor authentication

  3. Choose one of the following options:

    • Create passkey (recommended)

    • Set up authenticator app

Step 2 – Set up a fallback method

To prevent account lockouts, a backup method must be configured.

Choose one of the following:

  • Set up authenticator app

  • Generate recovery codes

  • Set up later (not recommended)

Once this step is completed, you will be logged in automatically.

After setup

Once logged in, you can make changes to your login methods, among others:

  • Add additional passkeys

  • Generate new recovery codes

Authentication methods

First factor:

  • Password

  • Email OTC

  • Phone OTC

  • Passkey

Second factor:

  • Passkey

  • Authenticator app (TOTP)

  • Recovery codes

Note: A passkey can be used as a standalone method, fulfilling both factors in one step.

Sudo mode

  • Required when changing sensitive or security-related settings

  • Activated by re-authenticating with a second factor

  • Remains active for 3 hours

Recommendation

  • Use a passkey as the primary authentication method and share it between your devices (through Apple ID, Google account, or Microsoft account)

  • Always configure a fallback method to avoid being locked out (especially when working on different devices)
